Even though the footage is a little grainy it adds to the whole performance! Pretty fuckin cool and easy wind is one of my favorite pig songs

Yeah, the condition of the footage is not mint, but it is more than good enough considering it is 42 years old. I agree that it makes the performance!

It's great to see Pigpen as the powerful performer that he was. Easy Wind is a such a great tune. I like to play it for non-Deadheads, because it shows the different dimensions of the band. The tune is just raw blues-rock power with shifty rhythms and heavy-duty jamming.

The Easy Wind on the Festival Express bonus tracks delivers as well!!!

I think it would take the X factor away. You can feel the electric interaction between the band an audience. Every flame spouted in to the air is met w/ gasps, every gunshot can be heard, and the usual annoying AUD chatter is turned on its head and is just exactly perfect, like when the kid is losing his face right before St. Stephan. "Oh no, oh no!" I would give some blood for a vid.

If you haven't read up on the history of this tape, do so. Ken & Judy Lee have a write up in the review section. You could probably Goggle it. LiA knows a ton as well. That last set is some of the best GD period. I wouldn't have to think too long if I could only take one tape of GD to my desert island.

well, a SBD to complement would be ideal.

And yes a vid would be amazing.

Must say, I've always been partial to the early show. The TOO, minglewood, cosmic charlie. All great.
